The fifth place finish for the Pioneer men, who totaled 47 points, was keyed by four school records and was their best placement in the history of the event. Marietta's women, who were comprised of just six student-athletes, collected 29.50 points to place ninth.

Sophomore Caleb Muller (Columbus/Bexley) was Marietta's lone champion as he won the 5,000m Run with a school record performance of 15:09.35.

Freshman Jon Monnig (Ironton/Ironton) set the Pioneers' second school record when he took fifth in the Pole Vault with a mark of 4.40m (14-05.25).

A third school record fell in the 4x200m Relay when senior Anthony Williams (Columbus/Bishop Hartley), junior Ryan Householder (Frazeysburg/Tri-Valley), senior Dele Adedapo (Gahanna/Bexley) and sophomore Billy McCulloch (Nelsonville/York) combined to take third after crossing the line in 1:31.03.

Williams, freshman Brandon Harrison (Pataskala/Watkins Memorial), Adedapo and Householder then closed the meet by breaking the school record in the 4x400m Relay. They took fourth with a time of 3:28.08.

Householder (3rd/6.55), Williams (5th/6.58) and Adedapo (7th/6.63) also earned points in the 55m Dash, while Adedapo, the busiest Pioneers at the meet, added a seventh place finish in the 200m Dash after crossing the line in 22.95 seconds.

Freshman Jason Hoskins (Westerville/Olentangy Orange) accounted for the squad's final eight points when he cleared a season-best 1.97m (6-05.50) in the High Jump and placed second.

Junior standout Ashley Bault (Atwater/Waterloo) continued to carry the Pioneer torch on the women's side as she accounted for 23 of the team's 29.5 points. Bault took runner-up in all three of her events, the High Jump (1.61m/5-03.25), Long Jump (5.38m/17-08.00) and Triple Jump (10.67m/35-00.25).

Freshman Megan Brooks (Proctorville/Fairland) and junior Kim Keesler (Chagrin Falls/Chagrin Falls) combined for 4.50 points in the Pole Vault when they took sixth and seventh, respectively, after both cleared 3.10m (10-02.00). Senior Stephanie Hammond (Toledo/Central Catholic) earned the final two points when she took seventh in the Weight Throw with a season's best toss of 13.93m (45-08.50).

The Pioneers are back in action Friday (Feb. 18) when they host the Marietta Open #3 at 4:30 p.m.
