Corryn Muench (Cold Spring, Ky./Newport Central Catholic) set a school record while winning the 200m Dash to highlight the Pioneer track and field team's performance as it swept the Marietta Open #1 Friday (Jan. 14) evening inside the Dyson Baudo Recreation Center. [

Marietta's women, who won 10 of the 16 scored events, dominated the four-team competition by compiling 215 points. Frostburg State University placed second with 64 points, Ohio Valley University was third with 29 points and Shawnee State University took fourth with 21 points. The difference between the top two teams in the men's standings was significantly closer but still went the way of Marietta as it collected 185 points. Frostburg State once again finished runner-up with 153 points, while Ohio University was third with 74 points and Shawnee State took fourth with 68 points. There were seven total schools that competed in Friday's men's competition.
Muench became the fastest Pioneer women to ever run the 200m Dash indoors when she took first place after crossing the line in 26.84 seconds. Earlier in the evening, Muench ran a personal record 7.58 seconds to capture the 55m Dash title.
Also earning 10 points for the Marietta women were
Lydia Tillmaand (Xenia/Xenia) in the 500m Dash,
Amy Kauffman (Carlisle, Pa./Carlisle Area) in the Mile Run,
Kaci Cunningham (Salesville/Buckeye Trail) in the Pole Vault,
Dana Miller (Frazeysburg/Tri-Valley) in the Long Jump and Triple Jump and
Stephanie Hammond (Toledo/Central Catholic) in both the Shot Put and Weight Throw.
The Pioneer men had six student-athletes earn 10 points, including William McCulloch, who won the 55m Dash with a personal best time of 6.69 seconds.
Terrance Wallace (Westerville/Westerville Central), who won the 3,000m Run, finished just of his personal record and crossed the line in 16:03.96. Other winners were
Anthony Williams (Columbus/Bishop Hartley) in the 200m Dash,
Jon Monnig (Ironton/Ironton) in the Pole Vault,
Alex Wynn (Senecaville/Cambridge) in the Triple Jump and
Gaston Hayes (Cleveland/Rhodes) in the Shot Put.
Head Coach Derek Stanley's program is back in action Friday (Jan. 21) when they host the Marietta Open #2. Action will begin at 4:30 p.m.
