Junior first baseman Mitch Geers (West Chester/Lakota East) helped the Etta Express to a 3-1 record last week and was named the OAC Baseball Hitter of the Week. Geers hit safely in all four games last week and had three multiple-hit games. He hit an even .500 for the week and drove in 10 runs. Geers went 4-for-7 in the first game at Mount Union and tied the OAC and Marietta College record with three doubles in the game. After going a combined 6-for-11 against Mount Union, Geers finished his week with a two-home run performance in the second game at Heidelberg. In the nitecap, he was 2-for-4 with three runs scored, five RBI and the two home runs.
