Marietta College Athletics

Senior defender Ryan Stephens (Enon / South Point) scored a pair of goals and assisted on two others as the Pioneers opened the 2013 season with a 1-1 showing in the annual Marietta Soccer Classic. Stephens scored one and picked up his two assists in Marietta’s 8-0 win over Penn State Beaver in the season-opener.  Trailing Saint Vincent 1-0, Stephens even the match with a beautiful diving header in the box. The Pioneers would eventually fall to Saint Vincent 2-1 in overtime. After the opening weekend, Stephens is tied for the team lead with two goals and leads Marietta with two assists and six total points.
