Men’s Track freshman Lawson Monta (New Alexandria, Pa./Greensburg Salem) was named the OAC Men’s Field Athlete of the Week for the second straight week after a record-setting performance at the OAC South Split Meet. Competing in just the third collegiate meet of his short career, Monta broke the Marietta College shot put record for the third time. Monta won the shot at the OAC South Split Meet with a record distance of 16.40 meters (53’ 9.75”). The new mark eclipsed Monta’s week old previous record by nearly two feet. The 16.40m toss ranks as the sixth best distance in the nation this season.
