ALLIANCE, Ohio — The Marietta College men's golf team finished third at the Mount Union Fall Invitational Saturday (Sept. 12) at Tannenhauf Golf Club. The first round of the tournament was canceled due to weather on Friday.
Malone won the team title with a score of 6-under-par, 282. Mount Union was second with a score of 295, followed by Marietta (301), Heidelberg (304), Wooster (304), Ursuline (305), Malone B (307), Mount Union B (310), Mount Union C (312), Muskingum (312), Westminster (314), Mount Union D (316), Westminster B (318), Heidelberg B (319), and Baldwin Wallace (329).
Malone's Jaxon Rinkes and Deagan Beaber tied atop the leaderboard with a 2-under-par round of 70.
Zach Huscusson (Clinton, Ohio/Northwest) led the Pioneers tying for ninth with a 1-over-par score of 73.
Hunter Wilson (Coraopolis, Pa./Moon Area) tied for 21st with a score of 76.
Kelson McCurdy (Beverly, Ohio/Fort Frye) shot a 74 to finish tied for 13th.
Jeremiah Fizer (Chesapeake, Ohio/Fairland) and
Carson Moore (Belpre, Ohio/Belpre) both carded rounds of 78 to finish tied for 34th.
Marietta is back in action at the Grove City Fall Invitational on Monday (Sept. 28) at the Grove City Country Club.
