CAMBRIDGE, Ohio — The Marietta College men's golf team opened the spring tournament season with a third place showing at the Muskingum Invitational Monday (Mar. 30). The Muskies hosted the tournament on the par-72 Cambridge Country Club course.
Otterbein won the team title with a two-round score of 595. Denison carded an even 600 to finish second, followed by Marietta (607), Muskingum (644), and Baldwin Wallace (646).
Denison's Owen Blakely shot a 3-under-par, 139, to claim medalist honors.
Kelson McCurdy (Beverly, Ohio/Fort Frye) and
Aidan Houghton (Tolland, Conn./Tolland) were Marietta's top finishers. Both carded two-day scores of 152 to finished tied for tenth.
Zach Huscusson (Clinton, Ohio/Northwest) was one stroke behind his teammates and finished tied for fifteenth with a score of 153.
Andrew Korner (Mission Viejo, Calif./Capistrano Valley) shot a 157 and tied for 21st, while
Carson Moore (Belpre, Ohio/Belpre) was 25th with a score of 159.
Marietta is back in action at the Polar Beaver Classic being co-hosted by Ohio Northern and Bluffton on Friday and Saturday (Apr. 3-4).
