WESTERVILLE, Ohio — Marietta College junior Austin Ziance (Highland Heights, Ohio/Mayfield) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week Monday (March 23) afternoon by the league office.  This was his first weekly award win of the season and the second in his Pioneer career.

Ziance put together a gem of a performance in the opening game of a weekend doubleheader against Otterbein. He threw a complete-game one hitter, striking out nine while only giving up one unearned run to earn his second win of the season.

For the season, Ziance is 2-3 with a 2.93 earned run average, fourth best in the OAC. He has pitched in 27.2 innings, striking out 29 batters.

Marietta is off until next Saturday (Mar. 28) when the Pioneers travel to play conference foe Ohio Northern University. First pitch is slated for 1:00 p.m.
