Men's Golf places seventh at OAC Championship

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ohio — The Marietta College men's golf team finished seventh at the Ohio Athletic Conference Championship Sunday (May 4) afternoon at the River Greens Golf Course. Due to weather issues on Saturday, the 72-hole tournament was trimmed to 54 holes.
 
John Carroll won the team title with a three-round total of 884. Otterbein finished second with a score of 889, followed by Ohio Northern (897), Heidelberg (908), Capital (909), Mount Union (912), Marietta (918), Baldwin Wallace (950), and Muskingum (964).
 
John Carroll's Michael Keefe and Otterbein's Ian Morgan tied atop the leaderboard with 1-over-par scores of 215. Keefe won medalist honors winning a two-hole playoff. Zach Huscusson (Clinton, Ohio/Northwest) earned All-OAC honors with a top 10 finish. Huscusson carded a 223 tying for tenth place.
 
Andrew Korner (Mission Viejo, Calif./Capistrano Valley) tied for 22nd place with a three-day total of 230. Hunter Wilson (Coraopolis, Pa./Moon Area) finished with a score of 234, good for a tie for 31st. Jaekob Conard (Mansfield, Ohio/Madison Comprehensive) was 33rd two strokes behind Wilson at 236. Kelson McCurdy (Beverly, Ohio/Fort Frye) rounded out the Pioneer lineup. He finished tied for 36th with a score of 238.
 
The Pioneers say goodbye to Conard, the lone senior on the team. Conard is a four-year letter winner for the Navy Blue and White.
