MARIETTA, Ohio — Marietta College placed two players on the 2025 D3baseball.com All-Region team Tuesday (May 27) morning. Third baseman Nick Bonnizzio (Hudson, Ohio/Twinsburg) was named to the second team and pitcher Austin Ziance (Highland Heights, Ohio/Mayfield) was named to the third team. Ziance was also named to the ABCA/Rawlings All-Region 7 third team.
 
Bonnizzio, a two-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference first team selection, was tied for sixth in the OAC with a .371 batting average. He led the Pioneers with 11 doubles and four home runs.
 
"Nick battled through some injuries this year and had a great final season in the pinstripes," Marietta head coach Brian Brewer said. "His versatility was a huge asset for us as he spent time at third base, first base, and in the outfield depending on our needs on a given day."
 
Ziance was the ace of the staff for the Pioneers, compiling a 4-1 record in 12 starts. He was second in the OAC with 69.2 innings pitched and led the conference with 72 strikeouts and an earned run average of 1.94.
 
"Austin established himself as the number one pitcher in our rotation and as one of the top pitchers in the OAC," Brewer said. "We look forward to watching his continued development over the next two years."
