WEST LAFAYETTE, Ohio — The Marietta College men's golf team finished sixth out of eleven teams at the Ohio Athletic Conference Spring Preview Thursday (April 10) afternoon. The 18-hole tournament was held on the par-72, 6684-yard, River Greens Golf Course.
 
Ohio Northern won the team title with a total score of 289. Otterbein B finished second carding a 291, followed by Heidelberg (292), Otterbein (295), Ohio Northern B (299), Marietta (3-1), Muskingum (307), Heidelberg B (310), Capital (313), Ohio Northern C (317), and Capital B (318).
 
Andrew Briars, from the Ohio Northern B team, took home the medalist honors with a 2-under-par, 70. Noah Huard (Otterbein B) and Gordon Kopmeyer (Ohio Northern) tied for second with rounds of 71, one shot back of Briars.
 
Andrew Korner (Mission Viejo, Calif./Capistrano Valley) was Marietta's top finisher with a score of 73, good for a tie of ninth place. Zach Huscusson (Clinton, Ohio/Northwest) tied for 16th with a round of 74. Kelson McCurdy (Beverly, Ohio/Fort Frye) shot a 76 finishing tied for 28th place. Jaekob Conard (Mansfield, Ohio/Madison Comprehensive) carded a 78 and tied for 38th place. Hunter Wilson (Coraopolis, Pa./Moon Area) rounded out the Pioneer lineup with a score of 80, tying for 47th place.
 
Three Pioneers played as individuals. Mason Reville (Northfield, Ohio/Nordonia) fired a 76 and tied for 28th. Grayson Herb (Marietta, Ohio/Marietta) ties for 41st with a score of 79, while Mason Jackson (Guysville, Ohio/Federal Hocking) shot an 83 and tied for 58th place.
 
Marietta is back in action at the Wooster Nye Intercollegiate on Sunday and Monday (April 13-14) at the Wooster Country Club.
