ALLIANCE, Ohio — The Marietta College men's golf team finished sixth at the Malone Fall Classic to open the 2024 fall season Saturday (Sept. 7) afternoon. The Pioneers carded a two-day score of 616 on the Tannenhauf Golf Club course.
West Liberty won the team title with a two-round score of 585. Malone finished second with a score of 593, followed by Walsh (608), Wooster (613), Grove City (615), Marietta (616), Malone B (628), Wooster B (641), and Grove City B (668).
Walsh's Kaleb Allen fired a 7-under-par 137 to win medalist honors by five strokes over second place finisher Brogan Bennett from West Liberty.
Andrew Korner (Mission Viejo, Calif./Capistrano Valley) led the Pioneers with a 4-over-par 148 to finish in a three-way tie for seventh place.
Kelson McCurdy (Beverly, Ohio/Fort Frye) tied for 18th with a two-day score of 154.
Zach Huscusson (Clinton, Ohio/Northwest) was one shot behind McCurdy in 20th place with a 155.
Hunter Wilson (Coraopolis, Pa./Moon Area) carded a 160 and
Jaekob Conard (Mansfield, Ohio/Madison Comprehensive) finished with a score of 161 to round out the Pioneer lineup.
Mason Reville (Northfield, Ohio/Nordonia) competed as an individual and finished with a score of 161.
Marietta is back in action next weekend at the John Carroll Donald Ross Invitational on Sunday and Monday (Sept. 15-16) at the Shaker Heights Country Club.
