WILLOUGHBY, Ohio — The Marietta College men's golf team tied for ninth place in the NCAA Region V Fall Preview Sunday (Sept. 22) afternoon at the Manakiki Golf Course. The Pioneers carded a two-day total of 620 on the par-72 course.
Trine won the team title with a score of 587. John Carroll finished second with a two-round score of 598. Denison placed third with a two-round score of 598, followed by Penn State Altoona (605), Ohio Wesleyan (613), Albion (615), Wooster (615), Mount Aloysius (618), Marietta (620), Pitt-Greensburg (620), Denison B (622), Ohio Northern (624), Franklin (631), Anderson (635), Earlham, (638), Pitt-Bradford (640), Penn State Altoona B (642), Olivet (648), Muskingum (653), PSU-Behrend (682), Hiram (696), and Carlow (748).
Pitt-Greensburg's Zachary Abdallah and Trine's Carter Schnipke tied for medalist honors with scores of 1-under-par 143.
Andrew Korner (Mission Viejo, Calif./Capistrano Valley) led the Pioneers with a score of 154, good for a tie of 23rd place.
Zach Huscusson (Clinton, Ohio/Northwest) was one stroke behind Korner and tied for 31st place with a score of 155.
Mason Reville (Northfield, Ohio/Nordonia) tied for 46th place with a score of 157.
Hunter Wilson (Coraopolis, Pa./Moon Area) carded a 160 tying for 65th place, while
Kelson McCurdy (Beverly, Ohio/Fort Frye) finished with a 162 to tie for 75th place.
Marietta is back in action at the OAC Fall Preview on October 5-6 at the River Greens Golf Course in West Lafayette.
