ALLIANCE, Ohio — The Marietta College track and field team had three athletes participate in the Mount Union Last Chance Outdoor Meet Thursday (May 19) afternoon.
Brooke Huffman (Wooster, Ohio/Wooster) broke her own school record in the discus throw. She placed fourth in the meet with a mark of 41.66 meters (136' 8"), beating her previous record distance by one foot. Huffman also placed fifth in the hammer throw with a toss of 46.94 meters (154' 0").
Annie Priest (Frazeysburg, Ohio/Tri-Valley) set a personal record in the hammer throw. She placed second with a distance of 49.91 meters (163' 9"). Priest competed in the shot put but did not mark. She will be the lone Pioneer to qualify for the NCAA Outdoor Championships and will compete in the shot put. Her mark of 13.78 meters (45' 2.5") at the Mount St. Joseph Meet ranks 16th in the nation this spring.
Addison Painter (Vermilion, Ohio/Vermilion) competed in three events. He placed fourth in the long with a leap of 6.68 meters (21' 11"), sixth in the javelin with a distance of 45.06 meters (147' 10") and seventh in the triple jump with a mark of 12.87 meters (42' 2.75").
The NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships are scheduled for Thursday-Saturday (May 26-28) at the Spire Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
