Track and Field participates in the Ashland Alumni Open

ASHLAND, Ohio — The Marietta College men's and women's track team competed at the Ashland Alumni Open Saturday (April 30) afternoon.
 
Addison Painter (Vermilion, Ohio/Vermilion) led the Pioneer men with top-10 finishes in the unscored meet. Painter placed third in the triple jump with a leap of 13.12 meters (43' 0.25"). He set a new personal record in the long jump with a distance of 6.76 meters (22' 2.25"), good for fourth place. Painter also recorded a seventh-place finish in the javelin throw with a personal record mark of 47.94 meters (157' 3").
 
Emma Fehrman (Newark, Ohio/Licking Valley) notched the highest finish for the Pioneer women placing sixth in the triple jump. Fehrman set a new personal record with a distance of 10.32 meters (33' 10.25"). Cali Barnes-Pierotti (Gallipolis, Ohio/Gallia Academy) placed tenth in the triple jump with a personal best mark of 9.62 meters (31' 6.75").
 
Isabelle Poling (Lancaster, Ohio/Bloom Carroll) turned in a seventh-place finish in the 5,000-meter run crossing the line in 20:53.90.
 
Two Pioneers recorded eighth place finishes. Annie Priest (Frazeysburg, Ohio/Tri-Valley) finished eighth in the shot put with a toss of 12.26 meters (40' 2.75"), while Kaitlin Kobuszewski (Chardon, Ohio/Chardon) was eighth in the javelin thrown with a mark of 30.14 meters (98' 11").
 
Marietta is back in action on Thursday and Friday (May 5-6) at the Ohio Athletic Conference Outdoor Championship being hosted by Baldwin Wallace University.
