Box Score NEW CONCORD, Ohio – The Marietta College women's lacrosse team defeated Muskingum University, 18-5 on Wednesday (April 27) to close out the 2022 season. With the win the Pioneers improve to 8-7 overall, 2-6 in Ohio Athletic Conference play. With the loss the Muskies finished the season at 3-11, 1-7 in the OAC.

Malory Nadrah. "We finally came out and played like MCWLAX. We set the tone from the first draw and pulled away against a great Muskingum team. It was a team effort. A fantastic way to end the season and cap the inaugural class's final season."
The Pioneers got off to an explosive start as they scored seven first period goals.
Hope Adams (Delaware, Ohio/Bishop Watterson) found the net four times and
Shelby Millheim (Bethlehem, Pa./Freedom) scored three times to pace the Pioneers.
The second period saw more offensive fireworks as Marietta almost matched the output from the period prior.
Leeza Jongekryg (Holland, Mich./West Ottawa) scored twice and
Mackenzie Dyott (Easton, Md./Easton),
Rachel Sivie (Washington, Pa./Trinity), and
Kyla Andreas (Shirley, N.Y./Longwood) scored goals. Millheim found the net for the third time and Pioneers led 13-3 going into the half.
The Pioneers kept the Muskies off the board in the third period, while scoring three more times themselves.
Casey Roeder (Milford, Ohio/Milford) and
Anna Callow (Wadsworth, Ohio/Wadsworth) scored and Adams put up her game-high fifth goal in the closing minutes of the quarter to give Marietta a 16-3 lead with one last period to play. Late goals by McGriff and Callow dressed up an already impressive total and Marietta closed out the season with an impressive victory.
Maddie Leers (Crystal Lake, Ill./Barrington) played the first period in goal, she faced six shots, three of which were on goal, and made two saves. She was replaced by
Abby May (Randolph, Ohio/St. Vincent-St. Mary), but played offense for the rest of the matchup and even caused a turnover. May faced 18 shots, 12 of which were on goal and made eight saves.
Marietta was led by Adams as she scored five goals. Millheim scored on three occasions. Callow, McGriff, and Jongekryg all scored twice in the matchup.
Kyla Andreas (Shirley, N.Y./Longwood) caused two turnovers and picked up five groundballs.
"Another thank you to my seniors," concluded Coach Nadrah. "We have officially built a competitive, collegiate women's lacrosse team. They have so much to be proud of from this season and their careers. They have built a strong foundation that future teams and athletes will build success upon. I could not be prouder to be their coach."
