Dimon named Harrison Dillard Most Outstanding Hurdler/Sprinter

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Alex Dimon (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge) was named the Harrison Dillard Most Outstanding Hurdler/Sprinter of the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Championship meet on Monday (May 10) by the league office.  

Head Coach Jason Davis said, "It is always an honor when someone wins sprinter of the meet in this conference.  With the talented sprinters in the OAC, this is a big accomplishment."  

Dimon earned the award with a pair of wins at the OAC Championship and a fourth-place finish.  Dimon won his first OAC Title of the weekend the 110-meter hurdles when he crossed the line in a time of 14.36 seconds.

The hurdler added a second OAC title to his resume in the 400-meter hurdles.  Dimon won the event in a personal best time of 53.11. seconds.  Dimon capped his weekend in the 4x400 meter relay, when the team of Tyler Walker (Cambridge, Ohio/John Glenn), Evan Kieffer (Cheswick, Pa. /Fox Chapel Area), Lane Wilson (Wooster, Ohio/Wooster), and Dimon took home fourth place.  

Dimon currently ranks second in the NCAA Division III standings for the 110-meter hurdles, and ranks fourth in the 400-meter hurdles.  

The track and field team will be back in action Friday (May 14) when they compete in the Harrison Dillard Twilight meet.
