MARIETTA, Ohio — The Marietta College women's rowing team wrapped up its fall racing season by hosting the Muskie Chase Sunday (Oct. 27) morning on the Muskingum River. The Pioneers were joined by crews from Adrian College, the University of Dayton and Ohio Wesleyan University.
"It was good to get in quality racing against conference and out of conference teams," Marietta head coach Abby Klicker said. "Our women showed resilience through the 5k and are ready to direct their attention to preparing for spring racing."
The crews competed in a 5,000-meter varsity 8+ head race with Dayton winning in a time of 18:50.4, over a minute ahead of second-place Adrian. Adrian posted a time of 19:58.3, followed by Dayton's "B" crew (20:34.1), Marietta (21:10.8), and Ohio Wesleyan (22:12.5).
Dayton and Adrian competed in the novice 8+ with Dayton winning by 20 seconds. The Flyers finished in 22:31.2 with Adrian crossing in 22:54.4.
