MARIETTA, Ohio — The Marietta College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee is teaming with
Toys for Tots this holiday season. Donations will be collected through Tuesday (Dec. 8) and can be dropped off in the main athletic office on the first floor of Ban Johnson Arena.
Pioneer basketball fans will receive
FREE admission to the men's basketball game against Wilmington this Saturday (Dec. 5) at 3:00 p.m. with the donation of a new, unwrapped toy.
In addition to the toys collected, the Athletic Department is also donating a portion of the proceeds from Saturday's men's basketball game.
Toys for Tots is a program run by the United States Marine Corps Reserve which distributes toys to children whose parents cannot afford to buy them gifts for Christmas. The program was founded in 1947. Over its life span, the Marine Toys for Tots Program has distributed over 494 million toys to over 230 million less fortunate children.
The Pioneer men open Ohio Athletic Conference play on Wednesday (Dec. 2) when Muskingum University visits Ban Johnson Arena for a 7:30 p.m. tip.
