BEREA, Ohio – The Marietta College men's tennis season came to an end Tuesday (May 1) afternoon in the quarterfinals of the Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament. Baldwin-Wallace College, seeded No. 1, dispatched the No. 8 seed Pioneers by the score of 5-0. [

Marietta finishes the season with a 7-9 record, while the Yellow Jackets improve to 26-0 and will play the winner of #5 John Carroll and #4 Mount Union in the semifinals.

The Yellow Jackets finished off the Pioneers with wins at the bottom two singles positions. Alexander Kearney beat Sheikh at No. 5, 6-0 and 6-0, while Beaton downed Gontero at No. 6 by the same score.
With the victory secured for Baldwin-Wallace, the remaining matches were stopped. The Yellow Jackets were ahead in the four unfinished matches.
At No. 1, Trzeciak was leading Daub, 6-0 and 4-4. Horvath had a 6-0, 1-0 edge on Koscielny at No. 2. Knauff was trailing Patterson at No. 3, 6-0 and 5-0, while Boudiaux held a slim lead on Grant at No. 4, 3-2.
