BEREA, Ohio – The Marietta College men's tennis team ended the regular season with a 9-0 loss against Baldwin-Wallace College on Saturday (April 28) afternoon in Berea. The Pioneers move to 7-8 overall and 2-7 in the Ohio Athletic Conference. The Yellow Jackets improve to 24-0 on the season and 9-0 in the OAC. [Box Score]

Baldwin-Wallace's No. 1 team of Alexandre Bourdiaux and Alex Trzeciak downed #Teddy Daub (Parkersburg, W.Va./Parkersburg)# and #Dave Koscielny (Belleville, Mich./Plymouth Christian)# by the score of 8-4. Joe Horvath and Tyler Beaton were 8-0 winners at No. 2 versus #Karl Grant (Elmhurst, Ill./York)# and #Andy Knauff (Valencia, Pa./Mars Area)#. At No. 3, Taylor Long and Kyle Patterson defeated #Tyler Pullekines (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin)# and #Ryan Gontero (Kent/Kent Roosevelt)#, 8-2.

Playing pro-sets in singles play, Trzeciak posted an 8-1 decision over Daub at No. 1, while Horvath beat Koscielny at No. 2 by the score of 8-4. Patterson defeated Knauff at No. 3, 8-1.

Bourdiaux won at No. 4 over Grant, 8-0. Alexander Kearney and Beaton took Nos. 5 and 6, respectively. Kearney defeated Pullekines, 8-1, and Beaton beat #Abdul Sheikh (Columbus/Saint Johnsbury Acad.)# by the score of 8-0.

The Pioneers will be the No. 8 seed in the Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament and play at No 1 seed Baldwin-Wallace in the quarterfinals on Tuesday (May 1) at 3:30 p.m.
