WILKES-BARRE, Pa. — Junior right side hitter #Meredith Storey (Olmsted Falls/Olmsted Falls)# had a match-high 10 kills and sophomore libero #Jen Braun (Chagrin Falls/Kenston)# added a match-best 20 digs to lead Marietta College to a 3-0 (25-13, 25-22, 26-24) victory over host Wilkes University Friday (Oct. 8) evening. The victory snapped a nine match losing streak and improved Marietta's record to 6-14, while Wilkes fell to 8-14 on the season.

Sophomore outside hitter #Alex VanGundy (Powell/Olentangy Liberty)#, sophomore setter/outside hitter #Dana Miller (Frazeysburg/Tri-Valley)# and freshman middle blocker #Kathryn Hanssen# all helped Storey with the offensive attack by finishing with six kills. Miller also finished with 16 assists and four service aces, while Braun, Hanssen and VanGundy all added a pair of service aces in the win.

Braun's defensive effort was complemented by 15 digs from Miller, eight digs from Storey and six digs from sophomore setter #Ally Jenkins (Twinsburg/Walsh Jesuit)#.

Marietta continues its fall break trip Saturday (Oct. 9) afternoon when the Pioneers take on host Vassar College at 12 p.m. and New Jersey City University at 2 p.m. in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.
