Track and Field freshman Lawson Monta (New Alexandria, Pa./Greensburg Salem) accounted for 14 of Marietta’s 24 total team points at the OAC Indoor Championships. Monta shattered the OAC and Marietta College record in the shot put on the first day of the championship. He won the shot put with a distance of 17.35 meters. That distance ranks as the third best throw in NCAA Division III this season. On the final day of competition, Monta set a new personal-best in the weight throw. He finished fifth in the OAC with a throw of 16.60 meters.
