Football junior running back Roger Walker (Palm Bay, Fla. / Bayside) was named the OAC Offensive Player of the Week after running the ball for a career-high 265 yards at Heidelberg in MC’s 41-28 loss last weekend. He carried the ball 34 times, also a career-high, and scored three touchdowns, which equaled his single game best. Walker was a one man wrecking crew in the third quarter. He carried the ball 10 times for 136 yards in the period and scored on runs of 80, 9 and 3 yards. For the season, he is averaging 111.7 yards per game, good for third in the OAC. He also ranks third in the conference averaging 6.5 yards per carry. Walker eclipsed the 100-yard rushing milestone for the fourth straight week against the Student Princes.
