Junior forward Candice Alexander (Fairborn/Fairborn) was named the Lisa Wagner Most Valuable Player of the 29th annual Jim Meagle Turkey Shoot last weekend after leading Marietta to the tournament title. She becomes the 14th Pioneer to win the MVP honors. Alexander averaged 18.0 points and 8.5 rebounds in MC’s two wins. In the championship game, Alexander poured in 20 points and grabbed 13 rebounds for her second double-double of the season. She led Marietta with 16 points in the first round win over Mount St. Joseph. For the season, Alexander is leading the Pioneers with 14.0 points per game and 6.8 rebounds per game. She is also tops on the team sinking 69.6% of her shot attempts.
