ALLIANCE, Ohio — The Marietta College women's golf team opened the fall tournament season at the Mount Union Fall Invitational Sunday (Sept. 6) afternoon at Tannenhauf Golf Club. The Pioneers finished sixth.

Mount Union won the team title with a score of 332 on the par-72 course. Grove City was second one stroke behind at 333, followed by Ursuline (336), Malone (341), John Carroll (351), John Carroll B (374), Marietta (375), and Mount Union B (394).

Grove City's Emily Burling won medalist honors with a 2-over-par, 74. Olive Armbrust (Doylestown, Ohio/Chippewa) and Madelyn Ebersbach (Madison, Ohio/Madison) led the Pioneers with rounds of 93. Alyssa Tomlinson (Powhatan Point, Ohio/The Linsley School) carded a 94 with Emily Capitosti (Perry, Ohio/Perry) finishing with a 95, and Sarah Imig (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield Central) a 107.

Marietta is back in action at the Ohio Northern Polar Bear Classic on Sunday and Monday (Sept. 13-14) at StoneWater Golf Club in Highland Heights, Ohio.
