WESTERVILLE, Ohio — Marietta College senior Aiyana Hancock (Marietta, Ohio/Warren Local) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week Monday (Apr. 6) afternoon by the league office. This is the first weekly award for the Pioneer pitcher.
 
On Tuesday against Denison University, Hancock scattered seven hits and only gave up one run, striking out six to claim the victory. She followed that with a masterful one-hit complete game shutout of Heidelberg University on Friday, collecting another five strikeouts for the afternoon.
 
For the week, Hancock, was 2-0 with a 0.55 earned run average and had a .182 opposing batting average against her.
 
Marietta battles OAC foe Muskingum on the road on Wednesday (Apr. 8) for a doubleheader with first pitch scheduled for 1 p.m. The Pioneers will return home the following day for a doubleheader with Ohio Wesleyan University with a 3 p.m. start time.
