GREENWOOD, Indiana – The Marietta College softball team had five players named to the 2026 Academic All-District Team, as selected by the College Sports Communicators. Juniors Liz White (North Royalton, Ohio/North Royalton), Grace Elliott (Akron, Ohio/Green), and Adisson Heath (Weston, W.Va./Lewis County) and sophomores Mallory Gorgacz (Edinburg, Pa./Union Area) and Emilie Johnson (Lucasville, Ohio/Valley) were named and honored due to their academic efforts as well as their play on the field.
 
White, an Actuarial Science major, has a cumulative GPA of 3.64. On the field, White was fifth in the Ohio Athletic Conference with 55 hits, 36 runs batted in, and a .451 batting average.  She also was second in the OAC with a .571 on base percentage.
 
Elliott, an Elementary Education major, has a cumulative GPA of 3.80. She collected 23 hits and compiling a .324 batting average. She was a perfect 7-for-7 in stolen bases and drove in eight runs on the season.
 
A Marketing and Sport Management major, Heath registered a cumulative 3.57 GPA. Spending the season as the team's designated hitter, Heath was third on the team with 39 hits and 28 runs batted in and was in a tie for second with four home runs.
 
Shortstop Mallory Gorgacz (Edinburg, Pa./Union Area), an Early Childhood and Special Education major, maintained a 3.94 cumulative GPA. Starting in all 40 contests, she tallied 17 hits and contributed 12 RBIs over the course of the season.
 
Health Science major Emilie Johnson (Lucasville, Ohio/Valley) recorded a 3.50 cumulative GPA. On the field, she posted a .341 batting average and led Marietta with six home runs.
 
Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First, second, and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced on June 16.
