STEUBENVILLE, Ohio — The Marietta College women's golf team placed third at the Franciscan Fall Invitational Saturday (Sept. 27) afternoon at the Steubenville Country Club.
Washington & Jefferson won the team title with a score of 331. Heidelberg was second with a total of 367, followed by Marietta (376), Grove City (385), Franciscan (402), Waynesburg (425), and Geneva (433).
Geneva's Madison Sharek and Washington & Jefferson's MacKenzie Schmeltz tied atop the leaderboard with a score of eight-over-par, 80. The Pioneers had a pair of players tie for ninth place.
Madelyn Ebersbach (Madison, Ohio/Madison) and
Addison Jackson (Guysville, Ohio/Federal Hocking) both carded a 92.
Evie Gravlin (Columbus, Ohio/New Albany) tied for 14th with a round of 94.
Emily Capitosti (Perry, Ohio/Perry) shot a 98 to finish tied for 18th.
Olive Armbrust (Doylestown, Ohio/Chippewa) rounded out the Marietta lineup with a score of 101.
Marietta is back in action next weekend at the OAC Fall Preview on Saturday and Sunday (Oct. 4-5) at River Greens Golf Course in West Lafayette.
