ELYRIA, Ohio — Marietta College men's and women's cross country sent a half-dozen runners to the Commodore Invitational Friday (Sept. 12) evening. The 5,000-meter race was hosted by Lorain County Community College.
A trio of Pioneer women swept the medals placing in the top three positions.
Audrey Helmick (Berkeley Springs, W.Va./Berkeley Springs) posted a time of 22:44 to win gold.
Michaela Hieronymus (Letart, W.Va./Wahama) crossed the line in 25:14 to claim silver, while
Leilani Navarro (Mineral Wells, W.Va./Wood County Christian School) took the bronze medal with a time of 25:43.
Ryan Bertolino (Marlton, N.J.) led the Marietta men with a time of 19:35 to finish sixth.
Max King (Granville, Ohio/Granville) was closed behind finishing in 19:44 placing seventh and
Hunter Wick (Seymour, Ind./Seymour) posted a time of 25:26 and finished nineteenth.
Marietta is back in action at the All-Ohio Championship next Friday (Sept. 19) at Cedarville College.
