GREENWOOD, Indiana – The 2024-25 Academic All-District women's at-large teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognized three Marietta College women's lacrosse players. Seniors
Hope Adams (Delaware, Ohio/Bishop Watterson) and
Abby May (Randolph, Ohio/St. Vincent-St. Mary) and junior
Maggie Downard (Canal Fulton, Ohio/Jackson) were honored for their combined achievements in their sport and in the classroom.
Adams, a psychology major, has a cumulative GPA of 3.73. She appeared in all 17 games and led the Pioneers with 49 goals, eighth in the Ohio Athletic Conference. She capped off her Pioneer career as the current All-Time leader in goals (235).
A special education and elementary education dual degree major, May registered a cumulative 3.98 GPA. May started all 17 games as goalkeeper and tied for the OAC-lead with 150 saves. She is the current program leader with 525 career saves.
Downard, an early childhood education major, has a cumulative GPA of 3.77. She started all 17 games and was sixth on the team with 11 goals scored.
To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current institution. Student-athletes must compete in 90 percent of the institution's games played OR must start in at least 66 percent of the games.
