LOUISVILLE, Kentucky — Marietta College had a familiar face placed on the National Fastpitch Coaches Association NCAA Division III All-Region team announced Friday (May 16) afternoon. For the third straight year,
Rachel Kazmirski (Colliers, W.Va./Brooke) earned a spot on the team as she was placed on the second team.
"Rachel receiving second team all-region feels a little extra special this year with it being her last season wearing the navy and white," Marietta head coach
Jenn Castle said. "I've said this before but it cannot be said enough, it was an honor coaching Rachel. She is an irreplaceable player and left a strong mark to our program."
Kazmirski became the first All-American in program history in 2023 and then followed that up by getting named to the All-Region first team last year. This season, Kazmirski finished her Pioneer career with another great campaign. She once again led the team with a .489 batting average, good for second in the OAC. She led the team with four home runs, 31 runs batted in, and was third in the conference with a .734 slugging percentage.
Marietta finished the season with a 20-15-1 overall record and 6-10 Ohio Athletic Conference record.
NFCA All-Region and All-American athletes must be nominated by their NFCA member head coach, are voted for by the coaches in their region or division and ultimately are selected by elected All-American committee members to receive this prestigious accolade.
