WESTERVILLE, Ohio —Marietta College junior guard
Paige Tolson (Guysville, Ohio/Federal Hocking) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Midstream Lighting Women's Basketball Player of the Week Monday (Jan. 22) afternoon by the league office. This is the first time that Tolson has earned the weekly award this season.
Tolson scored a career high in points last Wednesday, pouring in 24 points in Marietta's dominating win over visiting Mount Union. She made 9-of-15 shots from the floor and dished out four assists. She also led the Pioneers with 19 points in a lopsided victory over Heidelberg last Saturday, collecting three steals along the way.
For the season, Tolson currently ranks second on the team in scoring averaging 10.9 points per game and leads Marietta with a 87.5 free-throw shooting percentage (49-for-56).
Marietta plays a pair of Ohio Athletic Conference games this week. They will host rival Muskingum University this Wednesday at 7 p.m. and then travel to Wilmington College on Saturday at 2 p.m.
