GREENWOOD, Indiana – The Marietta College women's basketball team had a total of four players named to 2026 Academic All-District Team, as selected by College Sports Communicators. Junior Emma Rasmussen (Wadsworth, Ohio/Archbishop Hoban) and sophomores TJ Carpenter (Jackson, Ohio/Jackson), Sarah Podkul (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield Area), and Amelia Uhrig (Chillicothe, Ohio/Unioto) earned the honor due to their academic efforts as well as their play on the court.
 
A marketing and graphic design major, Rasmussen registered a cumulative 3.84 GPA. On the court this year, she co-led the team with 26 three-pointers and was second on the team with 38 steals.
 
Carpenter, a Psychology major, has a cumulative GPA of 3.70. This season, she led the team with 4.5 rebounds per game. She was also second on the team with 43 assists and 14 blocked shots.
 
Podkul, a Health Science major, has a cumulative GPA of 3.66. She came off the bench to appear in appeared in every game this year for the Pioneers, averaging 2.4 points per game. She was third on the team with 35 assists.
 
Majoring in Finance, Uhrig has a cumulative GPA of 3.56. She led the squad with 18 blocks this year. She also contributed 5.8 points and 4.4 rebounds per game.
 
The Pioneers finished with a 12-14 record overall and a 7-9 record in the Ohio Athletic Conference. Marietta earned a spot in OAC playoffs but was knocked out of the first round by Mount Union.
 
Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First, second, and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced in mid-April.
