Finck promoted to associate head softball coach

10/28/2023 11:23:00 AM

MARIETTA, Ohio — Marietta College head softball coach Jenn Castle announced the promotion of Brianna Finck to associate head softball coach. Finck has been the Pioneers' lead assistant coach for the last seven years and Coach Castle thinks the promotion is greatly deserved.

"We are really fortunate to have Coach Finck in the program and happy to promote her to this position," said Castle. "As an alum of the college, she has the respect and passion to continually push the program to its top potential."

Finck began her coaching career back in 2018 as an assistant to longtime coach Jeanne Arbuckle and then stayed on as Castle was named head coach for the 2019 season. Finck helped guide the Pioneers to a 24-17 record in 2023, putting them into the NCAA tournament not only as a participant, but as a regional host site.

She has also been an integral part of the last two Pioneers teams leading the Ohio Athletic Conference in home runs. "Bri has taken on many roles throughout her time here, and we have seen a direct result in our lifting and conditioning program through her knowledge and guidance," said Coach Castle.

Finck was a four-year letter winner for the Pioneers from 2014-17. The former outfielder is tied for fifth on Marietta's all-time list with 141 games played, leading the Pioneers in stolen bases in each of her final three seasons.

A native of New Lexington, Ohio, Finck played scholastically at Crooksville High School where she was a two-sport standout in softball and basketball. She earned all-league honors four times in softball and twice in basketball.

"She has been able to grow into a mentor for our student-athletes and they often seek out her advice in different areas," concluded Castle.
