GROVE CITY, Pa. — The Marietta College women's golf team placed fourth out of eight teams at the Grove City Fall Invitational Monday (Sept. 12) afternoon. The invitational was held on the par-72 Grove City Country Club course.
Westminster won the team title with a score of 329. Point Park was a distant second finishing with a score of 376, followed by Geneva (381), Marietta (385), Carlow (402), Thiel (411), Grove City (419) and Franciscan (463).
Westminster had the top three finishers with Kasey Clifford taking medalist honors after carding a 5-over-par 77. Sierra Richard was second with an 82 and Morgan Byers placed third with a round of 83.
Helena Immel (Sugarcreek, Ohio/Garaway) led the Pioneers. She tied for sixth with a score of 88.
Shelby Byland (Coshocton, Ohio/River View) tied for 18th with a round of 96.
Ava Huebner (Rootstown, Ohio/Rootstown) carded a 99 to finish tied for 22nd.
Melanie Gibson (Newcomerstown, Ohio/Newcomerstown) tied for 28th with a 102, while
Evie Gravlin (Columbus, Ohio/New Albany) shot a 103 and tied for 31st.
Marietta travels to New Castle, Pa. on Saturday (Sept. 17) for the Westminster Invitational.
