CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Marietta College junior pitcher
Trent Valentine (Byesville, Ohio/Cambridge) was named to the NCAA Division III College World Series All-Tournament Team announced on Tuesday (June 7) afternoon after the conclusion of the 2022 Championship.
Valentine was the winning pitcher in Marietta's 7-0 win over Catholic University in the opening game of World Series. The Pioneer ace threw eight shutout innings and allowed just four base hits, all singles in the victory. He walked two and struck out eight.
The Pioneers went 1-2 in the World Series finishing the 2022 season with a 44-7 overall record. Marietta won the Ohio Athletic Conference regular season and tournament championships, along with the NCAA Regional and Super Regional titles en route to its 23rd appearance in the World Series.
