GREENWOOD, Indiana – The Marietta College baseball team had a player named to the 2026 Academic All-District Team, as selected by College Sports Communicators. For the second consecutive season,
Austin Ziance (Highland Heights, Ohio/Mayfield) was named to the list and honored due to his academic efforts as well as his standout performance on the mound.
Ziance, a junior actuarial science major, earned a cumulative 3.95 GPA. He compiled a 6-4 record in 10 starts, pitching in a total of 75.1 innings, and leading the OAC with four complete games. He was fifth in the league with 68 strikeouts and his earned run average of 1.91 was second best on the Ohio Athletic Conference.
Highlighting the season that he had, Ziance was also again placed on the All-OAC first team, the American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings All-Region 7 second team, and to the D3baseball.com All-Region third team.
Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First, second, and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced June 23.
