ADDISON, Michigan — The Marietta College women's rowing team raced in the Devil's Lake Invitation Saturday (April 16) hosted by Adrian College. The Pioneers' varsity eight finished second of three crews.
"Finishing in the middle of a wide-spread field, our women raced with determination and consistency and had a strong race," Marietta head coach
Abby Lord said. "We took the lessons learned from past weeks of racing and put them into action."
Mercyhurst, ranked No. 1 in NCAA Division II, won the varsity eight race crossing the line in 7:35.7 with open water on the rest of the field. Marietta finished second with a time 8:06.6, more than a minute ahead of third place Milwaukee School of Engineering (9:09.6).
The Pioneers are back on the water in two weeks at the Mid-Atlantic Conference Championship on Sunday (May 1) in Fairfax Station, Virginia.
