MARIETTA, Ohio — The Marietta College men's rowing team got back on the water Saturday (March 20) morning to race Adrian College. The Pioneers posted wins in the varsity 4+, varsity singles and second varsity singles. Adrian took first in the varsity doubles race.

With two of three boats in the varsity 4+ race, Marietta crews took the top two spots. Marietta's "A" boat finished in 5:39.1, seven seconds ahead of the Pioneer "B" crew (5:46.4). Adrian crossed the line in 5:51.4 for third place.

The closest race of the day was between a pair of MC boats in the varsity 8+ division. Marietta's "B" entrant posted a time of 5:26.1, less than three seconds ahead of the "A" boat which crossed the line in 5:28.6. Adrian didn't race an eight.

In the first varsity singles race, the Navy Blue and White against had the top two boats, Dalpedri won with a time of 6:30.7 and Hoffman was second finishing in 6:33.9, ahead of Adrian's two entries which posted times of 6:44.0 and 6:49.0.

Adrian's lone win of the day came in the varsity double. The Bulldogs (6:26.5) won with open water on the Pioneers crew (6:43.2).

The final race of the day was the second varsity singles and again it was two MC boats followed by two Adrian crews. Riffle won with a time of 6:31.6, followed by Madrid with a time of 6:40.8. Adrian's two crews crossed in 6:47.3 and 7:03.3.
