ELYRIA, Ohio – The Marietta College women's golf team won the Baldwin Wallace Fall Invitational at the Valley of Eagles golf course on Sunday (Oct.17) afternoon. The Pioneers won with a team score of 355, on the par 72, 5886-yard course.

Tom Arison said, "Total team effort this afternoon. Proud of these ladies and the grit they displayed. Days like today make all the hard work worth it."
Marietta won the event in convincing fashion, as Baldwin Wallace was second with a team score of 380, Mount Union was third with a total of 381, Muskingum was fourth with a team score of 387, and John Carroll finished fifth with a score of 393.
The Pioneers were led by
Lexi Bubenchik (New Concord, Ohio), she fired a round of nine over par 81. Bubenchik captured medalist honors, as she won the event by four strokes.
Helena Immel (Sugarcreek, Ohio/Garaway) finished eight strokes behind Bubenchik, when she finished in a tie for fourth with a round of 89.
Shelby Byland (Coshocton, Ohio/River View) turned in a round of 92 for the 18-hole tournament.
Alyssa Shawger (Nashport, Ohio/Tri-Valley) finished one stroke behind Byland, when she carded a round of 93.
Liz Leach (Waterford, Ohio/Waterford) added to the Marietta performance, she improved by eight shots on the back nine and turned in a round of 100.
Grace Wharton (Waterford, Ohio/Warren) and
Michaela Medich (Galloway, Ohio/Hilliard Bradley) rounded out the Pioneer day, as they carded rounds of 124 and 130 respectively.
Marietta will conclude its fall season when they compete at the Shriners Children's Hospital Intercollegiate, which starts on Saturday (Oct. 23).
