PRINCETON, New Jersey — The Marietta College men's rowing team finished a busy weekend of racing by competing in the Princeton Chase Sunday (Oct. 27) morning. The Pioneers entered three boats in the varsity heavyweight 8+ round one and two races.

Competing against some of the premier rowing programs in the nation, the Navy Blue & White's top crew finished less than two minutes behind the winning boat in each of the two races.

In the round one race, Dartmouth took first place with a time of 12:52.745. Princeton was second finishing in 12:57.158, followed by Washington (13:04.301), Wisconsin (12:12.201), and California (13:14.106).

Marietta's varsity 8+ shell posted a time of 14:30.628 to place 39th out of 50 boats. MC's second varsity shell placed 44th with a time of 14:49.282 and the third varsity crew was 49th with a time of 16:26.253.

Dartmouth won the round two race with a time of 12:57.610. The rest of the top five included Princeton (13:12.322), Wisconsin (13:19.861), California (13:20.398) and the Princeton B (13:21.899) crew.

The Pioneers top shell crossed the line in 14:52.219 to place 19th out of 24 boats. MC's second varsity crew was 22nd (15:23.373) and the third varsity boat was 23rd (16:28.920).

Marietta will close out its fall racing schedule at the Bill Braxton Memorial Regatta on Sunday (Nov. 10).
