MARIETTA, Ohio — Marietta College hosted women's rowing teams Ohio State, Case Western Reserve and Dayton Saturday (Oct. 28) for the Muskie Chase. The crews squared off in a 6,000-meter head race and three 500-meter sprints.
Case Western's varsity 8+ shell posted a time of 22:37.2 taking the top spot in the head race. Ohio State (24:12.0) was second and Dayton's novice crew (26:05.9) was third.
In the 4+ grouping, Dayton claimed the first three finishers. The Flyer varsity crew (24:46.1) had the fastest time, followed by their junior varsity boat (26:05.6), and novice shell (26:25.4). Case Western's varsity four posted a time of 26:42.4.
Dayton and Marietta each entered a pair. Dayton's duo crossed in 26:28.9, while the Pioneers finished in 27:21.3.
Marietta's pair featured
Lacy Parsons (Vienna, W.Va.) in the stroke seat and
Maya Bousamra (Glenshaw, Pa.) in the bow.
Ohio State's 8+ crew swept Dayton in the three 500-meter sprints, while Dayton's 4+ shell swept Case Western in all three sprints.
