Christian Demko (Xenia/Bellbrook) and Tyler Packanik (Plant City, Fla./Newsome) delivered RBI singles in the bottom of the fifth to get the Etta Express rolling. Hanahan crushed a triple to straight away center field in the sixth scoring two more.

The floodgates opened for Marietta in the seventh when the Pioneers sent 10 hitters to the plate resulting in five runs. Zach Bukiewicz (Minford/Lucasville Valley), Mitch Geers (West Chester/Lakota East), Josh Ungerbuehler (Cincinnati/Roger Bacon), Clint Roche (New Oxford, Pa./New Oxford) and Hanahan each drove in a run.

Marietta plated four more in the eighth inning as Roche lined a two-run single to center and Hanahan knocked in two more with a double don the right field line.

Junior Mike Fulton (Pittsburgh, Pa./Penn Hills) (1-1) picked up the win in relief of starter Mike Finlan (State College, Pa./State College). Fulton pitched 3.1 shutout innings allowing five base hits. Finlan gave up three runs on seven hits in 5.2 innings of work.

VanDine (2-3) went 6.0 innings and was charged with four runs on six hits. He walked three and struck out six. Three other Muskie pitchers worked the final 2.0 innings.

The Pioneers banged out 15 hits in the game led by Hanahan's three extra base hits. Bukiewicz, Ungerbuehler and Roche each finished with two hits, while Roche collected three RBI.

Marietta travels to Cleveland on Sunday (April 6) for a 1:00 p.m. doubleheader at No. 21 Case Western Reserve University. The Pioneers defeated Case Western 3-2 back on March 1st in Beckley, W.Va.
