Softball splits with Case Western Reserve

Sophomore Kelsey Kallenborn ripped a two-run walk-off triple in game one
Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 MARIETTA, Ohio – Marietta College split a non-conference softball doubleheader with Case Western Reserve University Sunday (March 30) afternoon at Marietta Field. The Pioneers took game one by the score of 5-4, while the Spartans won the nitecap, 9-5, in eight innings.

(1-0) picked up the win in relief. Kerwood threw 2.0 innings and allowed two runs on a pair of base hits. Alexis O'Hair (Maumee/Maumee) started and worked 5.0 innings giving up two runs on five hits.

Annie Wennerberg (7-2) took the loss. She pitched 6.2 innings and was charged with five runs on 11 hits. She walked a pair and struck out seven.

In the second game, Case Western scored five runs in the top of the eighth inning to salvage a split. The Spartans collected six hits in the inning included a three-run single from Rachel Komar.

Schlabach (4-4) tossed 5.1 innings in relief of starter Lauren Larrick (Leesburg/Fairfield Local). Schlabach allowed four runs n seven hits. Larrick gave up five runs on six hits.

Rebecca Molnar (2-0) got the win. Molnar worked 4.1 innings in relief and allowed one run on five hits. Rebecca Taylor started and pitched 3.2 innings. Taylor allowed four runs on seven hits.

Curry, Hannah Tarski (Independence/Independence), Rachel Montgomery (Massillon/Perry) and Finck each had two hits in the game for Marietta.

Marietta plays Baldwin Wallace University Monday (March 31) at Tuscarawas Central Catholic High School in New Philadelphia.
