Box Score 2 WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – The Marietta College softball team finished play in the Rebel Spring Games with a split on Friday (March 14). The Pioneers lost to Illinois Wesleyan University by the score of 2-0 before blasting Waynesburg University 11-0 in five innings.
Illinois Wesleyan (7-2 overall) limited Marietta to just two hits in the first game of the day. The Titans scored a run in the second and another in the fourth inning for the victory.
Alexis O'Hair (Maumee/Maumee) (3-2) started and got the loss for the Pioneers. O'Hair threw 3.0 innings and gave up two runs, one earned, on seven hits. She walked one.
Courtney Kerwood (Nashport/Tri-Valley) tossed 3.0 innings of shutout relief.
Marietta (5-5 overall) got its offense on track in the second game scoring in every inning against Waynesburg (1-8 overall). The Pioneer scored 11 runs on 10 hits in only four offensive innings of work.
Freshman
Brianna Finck (New Lexington/Crooksville) went 3-for-3 with a double and four runs batted in to lead the Marietta attack.
Sophomore
Trinity Schlabach (Wooster/Waynedale) (2-3) pitched 5.0 innings and allowed only two hits. She walked two and struck out seven.
Marietta opens Ohio Athletic Conference play on Saturday (March 22) at home against Wilmington College. First pitch is slated for 1:00 p.m. Fans can follow the Pioneers all season long at
