Box Score 2 COLUMBUS, Ohio – Marietta College maintained a share of first place in the Ohio Athletic Conference softball standings with a doubleheader split at Capital University Saturday (April 6) afternoon. The Crusaders won the first game 6-5 and the Pioneers took game two, 6-4.
Marietta is in a three-way tie for first place in the OAC with a 5-1 league record. The Pioneers are 14-8 overall. Capital is 15-7 on the season and 4-2 in the OAC.
The Crusaders roughed up Pioneers starting pitcher

Marietta scored a run in the top of the first only to see Capital tie the game in the bottom of the inning on a solo home run from shortstop Devan Boggs.
The Pioneers' senior second baseman
Katie Swejk (Tallmadge/Tallmadge) led off the third inning with a single and quickly stole second. The stolen base was Swejk's 63rd career theft setting a new school record. Kim Brown, who played for the Pioneers from 1986-89, held the old mark of 62.
Swejk would eventually score on an RBI ground out off the bat of catcher
Ris McDaniel (Pickerington/North) giving the Pioneers a 2-1 lead.
The lead was short-lived as Capital plated three runs in the bottom of the inning chasing O'Hair from the circle. The Crusaders added a run in the sixth for a 5-2 lead heading into the final inning.
With two outs and runners on the corners, freshman
Kelsey Kallenborn (Marshallville/Smithville) pinch hit or Swejk and tied the game, 5-5, with a home run to left center.
Capital got its lead off runner on in the seventh on a costly fielding error by the Pioneers. A sac bunt moved the winning run into scoring position and then an RBI double gave the win to Capital, 6-5.
