Box Score 2 KISSIMMEE, Fla. – No. 4 ranked Illinois Wesleyan University swept a doubleheader from Marietta College Wednesday (March 13) afternoon in softball action. The Titans posted 6-1 and 8-0 wins to improve to 7-1 on the season. Marietta falls to 5-3 overall.
Illinois Wesleyan scored a run in the top of the second and then added five in the third to take a 6-0 lead. Marietta responded with its only run of the day in the bottom of the third.
Sophomore
Alexis O'Hair (Maumee/Maumee) (1-1) took the loss. O'Hair started and went 2.2 innings and allowed six runs, just two earned, on five hits. She walked two and struck out one.
Sophomore
Courtney Kerwood (Nashport/Tri-Valley) pitched 4.1 innings of shutout relief scattering six hits. Kerwood walked one and had two strikeouts.
Senior Alyssa Vorel (2-1) went the distance to get the win. Vorel gave up one unearned run on four hits. She walked three and struck out three.
Titan first baseman Chloe Montgomery went 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles and two RBI.

Sarah Mayo (Proctorville/Chesapeake), right fielder
Trayla Liles (Tollesboro, Ky./Lewis County) and Kerwood each had one hit for the Pioneers.
In the second game, Illinois Wesleyan broke open a scoreless game with four runs in the bottom of the fifth inning. The Titans added four more in the sixth for the 8-0 run-rule victory.
Marietta's lone hit in the game came from left fielder
Michelle Kelley (Stow/Stow-Munroe Falls) on a bunt.
Freshman
Lauren Larrick (Leesburg/Fairfield Local) (1-2) started and took the loss. Larrick pitched 4.0 innings and gave up three runs on seven hits with two strikeouts. Kerwood and freshman
Trinity Schlabach (Wooster/Waynedale) each pitched in relief.
Freshman Jenna Noland (1-0) picked up the complete-game shutout. Nolan notched 11 strikeouts.
