Box Score MARIETTA, Ohio – Junior post Aleisha Guiler (Lower Salem/Monroe Central) was able to become the seventh all-time leading scorer in Marietta College women's basketball history with a 20 point, nine rebound performance Wednesday (Jan. 25) night at home against Muskingum University. Unfortunately, the Fighting Muskies ruined the celebration as Muskingum came in to Ban Johnson Arena and stunned Marietta with an 80-63 victory. [Box Score]

Marietta falls to 9-9 overall and 4-7 in the Ohio Athletic Conference. Muskingum is now 7-11 overall and 2-9 in the OAC.

Guiler needed only three points to reach the 1,000-point plateau heading into the night. Guiler passed the 1,000 mark after she collected an offensive board off a Pioneer free throw attempt and went back up strong to finish a lay-up at the 7:43 mark of the first half. She now has 1,017 career points, passing April Smith (1992-95) who had 1,016.

Sophomore post Candace Alexander scored 12 points with two steals for the Pioneers. Sophomore guard Tori Dixon (Londonderry/Vinton County) added 10 points with two assists for Marietta.

Muskingum would control the first half with its shot making and defensive pressure. The Muskie press forced 10 Pioneer first half turnovers, while scoring 20 points off those turnovers. Muskingum shot 50% (14-of-28) from the field and 62.5% (5-of-8) from three in the first stanza to lead at the half 40-28.

The second half proved to be the same story for Muskingum as it continued to be hot from the field while capitalizing off Pioneer miscues. The Muskie lead ballooned to as much as 23 in second half as Muskingum went on to win 80-63.

Carissa Bosch led the way for Muskingum with 23 points canning 6-of-8 from behind the arc. Hannah Nelson scored 19 points along with four blocks on the night. Tori Jarrett added 14 points with two steals, while Amanda Dobbins scored six with a game-high 11 boards.

Marietta finished the game shooting 40.7% (24-of-59) from the field, 33.3% from behind the arc and 62.5% (10-of-16) from the free throw line.

Muskingum shot 50% (30-of-60) from the field, 50% (11-of-22) from three-point range and 81.8% (9-of-11) from the charity stripe.

Marietta held the edge in rebounding 39-30 but committed 10 turnovers to Muskingum's 14. The Muskies also blocked nine shots scored 27 points off Pioneer turnovers.

Marietta returns to action on Saturday (Jan. 28) when it travels to Otterbein. Tip-off is scheduled for 3 p.m.
