In game one, Marietta took a 1-0 lead in the top of the fourth when sophomore Michelle Sayre (Ripley, W.Va./Ripley) ripped a double down the left field line to score Marissa McDaniel from second after she reached on a fielding error by the Bluffton center fielder.

Bluffton responded in the fifth to knot the score at 1-1 when Meagan Price was able to wiggle out of a rundown and steal second, which enabled Emily Manahan to score from third. The Beavers put the game away in the bottom of the seventh when it loaded the bases against Chelsea Chaffin (Wheelersburg/Wheelersburg).
